Avere vent'anni - Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna

Having twenty years is the title of the collective exhibition curated by the Comic and Illustration Course of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and sees the presence of authors who, as teachers or students, have lived through the years the spaces and activities of the school. 

After the exhibition at the Bologna Academy, the exhibition arrives at Romics XXXIV: an extraordinary opportunity, inside the creative forge that represent the days of Romics, to see, compare, investigate and enjoy the works of great artists, among professors and students today professionals, have dedicated to their journey within the Academy.  It will therefore be possible to discover the interpretation given by different generations and professions to an age which is both symbolic and very concrete while studying. Twenty years is also the age of the same Comic and Illustration Course: two decades have passed since this adventure was inaugurated in Bologna, for the first time in our country. Unique course in Italy for many years, now Bologna has several fellow students in other academies but remains a reference point for the fame gradually conquered thanks to the quality of the teachers, the teaching methods gradually elaborated, the wealth of a territory like Bologna.  

They responded enthusiastically to the proposal artists and long-recognized artists at national and international level as Andrea Bruno, Chiara Carrer, Onofrio Catacchio, Maja Celija, Sara Colaone, Gianluca Costantini, Otto Gabos, Adelchi Galloni, Alessandro Micheli, Octavia Monaco, Luigi Raffaelli, Sergio Ruzzier, Alessandro Sanna. Le opere dei “maestri” dialogheranno alla pari con quelle di autori e autrici più giovani che si sono ormai affermati come professionisti sia in Italia sia all’estero; tra i tanti nomi coinvolti Bianca Bagnarelli, Iris Biasio, Flavia Biondi, Vincenzo Bizzarri, Davide Bonazzi, Federica Ferraro, Christian Galli, Hanieh Ghashghaei, Alessandro Pastore, Emma Lidia Squillari, Luisa Torchio, Fumettibrutti.

A review and reflection on the path lived up to now and the hypotheses for future transformations are published in a volume by the teachers of the course: Twenty years later. Cartoon and Illustration in Accademia, published by Pendragon Edizioni within the ABABO - Teorie series. The volume will be available at Romics.
