Jakub Rebelka – Special Guest

An extraordinary immersion into the artistic universe of Jakub Rebelka, with a special focus on his latest work, H.P. Lovecraft’s Last Day, published by saldaPress: a work that represents a perfect synthesis of his unmistakable style. Inspired by the master of weird, the graphic novel combines elements of horror, fantasy and science fiction in a deep and engaging narrative.

Jakub Rebelka, born in 1981 in Starogard Gdański, Poland, is one of the most talented and versatile contemporary graphic artists trained at the Académie des beaux-arts de GdańskAutor. Award-winning for his works at home and abroad has become a reference point in the international comic book scene. 

Many of his works and international publications including, for Boom! Studios, Origins, Judas, a modern and controversial reinterpretation of the biblical figure, where his illustrations have exalted the narrative power of the opera, Namesake and Jim Henson’s The Storyteller: Sirens where his visionary art has given new life to the ancient mythological legends. He published for Dark Horse, Cyberpunk 2077, expanding the famous video game universe with a visual vision that has enhanced its dystopian and futuristic atmospheres. For Akileos he has created La cité des chiens, a work for which he has created a graphic story with a strong emotional impact, focused on dystopian and social themes. 

His vision ranges between fantastic, mythological and dystopian worlds, always maintaining a strong link with human emotions. His career continues to evolve, and each new project represents an important chapter in a constantly expanding artistic path.

Jakub Rebelka will be the protagonist of some special meetings at Romics.
