Kasia Smutniak: Romics Special Cinema XXX edition

Born in Warsaw in 1979, Kasia Smutniak (Katarzyna Anna Smutniak) is one of the most intense faces of the European contemporary film scene. Daughter of a Polish Air Force general, she grew up in contact with the world of aviation, inherited from her father a passion for flying and obtained a pilot’s license at only 16 years. From the early 2000s she began her acting career, starring in more than 40 projects including cinema and TV series.

In 2011 he founded the Pietro Taricone Onlus and built the Solar Ghami School in Mustang, Nepal, an innovative school built in full respect of Mustangi architecture that aims to preserve the millennial Tibetan culture.

In 2000 she debuted on the big screen and in 2008 she received her first prize, the Golden Globe as best new actress of the year for the film "In Your Hands" by Peter Del Monte, a film with which she will also win her first Silver Ribbon. He works with several Italian and international directors and starred in various films including "Chaos Calm" by Antonello Grimaldi with Nanni Moretti (2008), "Tutta Colpa di Giuda" by Davide Ferrario (2009), "The Passion" by Carlo Mazzacurati (2009), "From Paris with Love" by Pierre Morel (2010) and "The Fourth Estate" by Dennis Gansel (2010). In 2012 she was the godmother of the Venice Film Festival and starred in the films "Tutti Contro Tutti" by Rolando Ravello and "Benvenuto Presidente" by Riccardo Milani.
