Romics on Exhibition - Iride on comics

What do space programs and comics have in common? Art and science may seem distant worlds, but they are closely interconnected. Both are based on the ability to transfer emotions, ignite our imagination, allowing us to face incredible adventures. And so here is an incredible fusion of science and art, where IRIDE, the Italian space program of Earth Observation, is told through the illustrations of the masters of Italian comics. The project born from the collaboration with the Roman School of Comics, has given rise to twenty-eight extraordinary tables, created by fifteen of the most famous Italian illustrators. Fourteen tables were illustrated by SIO, while the remaining are the result of the creativity of great designers and teachers of the SRF, under the artistic direction of Simone Gabrielli, taking inspiration from the tables of SIO, they have reinterpreted them with their own unique style. The authors who collaborated on the project are: Sio, Valerio Lundini, Greg, Corrado Mastantuono, Elena Casagrande, Emilio Laiso, Fernando Proietti, Arianna Rea, Emiliano Tanzillo, Carlotta Di Cataldo, Stefano Caselli, Marianna Ignazzi, Michele Rubini, Alessandro Polelli, Lorenza Ricci. The project is curated by: Vittoria Stolfi and Fabrizio Zucchini.  IRIDE is one of the most important European Earth Observation satellite space programs. This program, promoted by the Italian Government and supported by PNRR resources, will be completed by 2026 under the management of ESA - European Space Agency - and with the support of the Italian Space Agency (ASI).  You just have to discover how comic book art can illuminate the wonders of space science!
