Valentina Marino was born in Rome in 1980. At the age of five, she sat under the living room table and decided that from that moment on she would live there. She brought her mattress, pencils, books and coffee cups there – and she is still a keen coffee drinker. Today she is forty years old, but her perspective hasn’t changed: looking at the world from the bottom up, discovering the details and secrets that only children know how to observe. She collects postcards, pen nibs and mysterious objects, and often reads books to her own children and to other people’s children, whom she meets in bookshops and libraries. Since 2025, she has been committed to promoting the books published by Sinnos Editrice both within and outside schools by organising meetings, workshops and events for children and teachers.
