Dice, Wizards, and Dragons: The Role-Playing Game as an Educational Tool
A meeting that will lead the audience to discover how role-playing can become a powerful educational tool, capable of combining fantasy, active learning, and relationships. The event will feature Kristian Sensini, author of the book Dice, Wizards, and Dragons, who will take participants on a journey through teaching, storytelling, and imagination.
Drawing on his firsthand classroom experience and the journey that led to the book's creation, Sensini will explore how a simple gaming table can transform into a dynamic, inclusive, and highly engaging educational space where you learn while having fun.
Between references to contemporary pop culture-from Stranger Things to Critical Role-and forays into history, literature, and art, from ancient Rome to Dante's Inferno, the meeting will show how Dungeons & Dragons can be used to teach history, mathematics, storytelling, problem solving, civics, and emotional education.
Role-playing will thus prove to be a true laboratory of creativity, empathy, and collaboration, where you grow through choices, discussion, and shared storytelling. The meeting will be aimed at teachers, educators and trainers, but also at the curious, fans of games and storytelling and anyone who wants to discover new ways of learning and being together.
The real adventure will not be winning the game, but the path we took together, capable of building knowledge, awareness, and community.
