Kristian Sensini is a composer and teacher, with a path that organically combines artistic research, teaching, and commitment in public schools. He has collaborated with some of the most innovative directors and authors on the international scene, enriching his portfolio with animated films, television series, independent films and documentaries. His collaboration with the famous filmmaker Signe Baumane (an Academy member) has given rise to highly impactful animated works such as “Rocks in My Pockets” and “My Love Affair With Marriage”, both selected in the Oscar race over several years, awarded at major international festivals –including Annecy– and nominated for the European Film Awards. For television, together with Pino Donaggio, he composed the music for the sixth season of the series “Provaci ancora Prof”. Alongside his compositional work, Sensini teaches in public schools and has been conducting in-depth research on the relationship between creativity, music, and teaching for years. He is the author of several books dedicated to educational innovation, with a particular focus on artistic languages as tools for inclusion and learning. His most recent volume, “Dice, Wizards and Dragons”, is dedicated to the educational use of role-playing games – in particular “Dungeons & Dragons – as a powerful educational resource in the school context”. Over the course of his career he has received two Hollywood Music in Media Award nominations and ten Jerry Goldsmith Award nominations, winning the ColonneSonore Award for the music of “Rocks in My Pockets”. He currently teaches at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and the University of Macerata. He studied with masters such as Ennio Morricone, Ludovic Bource and Hans Zimmer and is a member of the European Film Academy and the Recording Academy (Grammy).
