Born in Urbino in 1964. At 19 years old he moved to Bologna, where he graduated from DAMS. At the same time he started working as a cartoonist, first as a draughtsman and then as a screenwriter. Since 1996 he has been living in Milan, where he works at the editorial office of Topolino, a weekly magazine of which he is now editor-in-chief. He has collaborated with many magazines of comics and no, written texts for radio broadcasts, published books for children, edited albums, held seminars on the language of comics.
