Donald Duck’s Cheerful Jobs: precarious work and great adventures

Since 2022, the series “Donald Duck’s Cheerful Jobs,” written by Tito Faraci and illustrated by Enrico Faccini, and published in the weekly magazine Topolino, has been portraying the contemporary world of work with irony through the misadventures of the legendary Donald Duck. Between temporary jobs, unlikely professions, and impossible shifts, the most unlucky duck in Duckburg is constantly forced to reinvent himself, offering a humorous yet sharp satire of 21st-century labor.

With fifteen stories published so far, including Night Shift, Landline Telephony, Smoking Hot Deliveries, and the most recent House with a View (and Problems), the series has explored various aspects of job insecurity. It also includes an interesting reflection on the condition of women in the workplace, in the Daisy Duck-centered episode Donald Duck’s Cheerful Jobs – Office Substitute.

During the event, Tito Faraci and Enrico Faccini will discuss the creation and evolution of the series, between social satire, comedy, and new Disney adventures.
