Franco Fasano
Gianfranco Fasano, born in 1961 in Albenga, began his artistic career in his adolescence with his first band in Alassio. Growing up in an environment linked to the Sanremo Festival thanks to his father photographer, he became passionate about music and photography by artists such as Massimo Ranieri, Ricchi e Poveri, Mina and others. In 1981, he debuted at the Festival with "Un’isola alle Hawaii". Despite the elimination, this episode motivates him to improve and grow as an author.
In the following years, Fasano wrote songs for artists such as Fiordaliso, Plastic Bertrand, Drupi and Peppino Di Capri, consolidating his musical identity. In 1985, he won "Un disco per l'estate" with "Rimini-Ougadougou", sung by Lu Colombo. The consecration comes in 1987 with "Io amo", written for Fausto Leali at the Sanremo Festival.
Fasano continues to write for important artists such as Massimo Ranieri, Raffaella Carrà and Loretta Goggi, contributing to successes such as "Mi manchi" and "Ti lascerò", winner of the Sanremo Festival in 1989. In 1994, the breakthrough with the composition of "Goccia dopo goccia" for the Zecchino d'Oro, demonstrating its versatility and success in the world of children.
After a period of personal success, he became artistic director of Radiobaby and editions of Lo Zecchino d'Oro. Since 2005 he has collaborated with the Mia Martini Award, consolidating his position as a leading figure in Italian music. In 2021, he published his autobiography, "I love - From the Alassio Wall to the Sanremo Festival, from the Zecchino d'Oro to the cartoon themes and not only!" , retracing his long career of success in music "made in Italy". With her sensitive soul, Fasano continues to be a beloved signature, appreciated by both adults and children.
