John McCrea’s talent and unmistakable artistic style arrive at the 37th edition of Romics.
Active for more than 35 years, John McCrea is best known for co-creating the cult classic series Hitman with Garth Ennis, published by DC Comics. Throughout his career, he has worked for Marvel Comics on iconic characters such as Wolverine, Deadpool, Spider-Man, and Hulk, and for DC Comics on Batman, Catwoman, Wonder Woman, and Superman.
He has also illustrated acclaimed series including The Atheist and Mythic for Image Comics, The Boys for Dynamite, and Judge Dredd for the legendary British anthology 2000 AD. His more recent work includes Dark Carnage and Viking Venom for Marvel, as well as stories and covers for DC Comics and 2000 AD. His creator-owned series Dead Eyes, created with Gerry Duggan for Image Comics, has been a major success.
Alongside his work as an artist, McCrea teaches at schools and colleges and collaborates with charities and local organizations to produce comics addressing important social issues, including children's rights, drug addiction, and homelessness.
