Simone Bianchi, Golden Romics of the XXXII edition

The illustrator and painter of superheroes awarded the Gold Romics and author of the poster of the XXXII edition of the Festival

Simone Bianchi, master of contemporary Comic Art, will be celebrated with the award of the Gold Romics during the XXXII edition of the Festival, scheduled from 4 to 7 April 2024 at Fiera Roma.
In the contemporary global panorama, Simone Bianchi is among the greatest interpreters of the most famous superheroes who have marked the collective imagination of entire generations. Superman and Batman, Iron Man and Spider-Man, Thor and Captain America, as well as Wolverine, the X-Men, whose costume design for MARVEL, Just to mention a small part, they all went through the fervent creative vein of Bianchi. All his works are characterized by a distinctive pictorial feature that makes them unique and recognizable. 
Born as a painter and illustrator, he was able to bring into the comics his particular pictorial art that emerges in the predilection for chiaroscuro.
The original plates that Simone designed for Star Wars were purchased by George Lucas himself, who wanted them for his collection. Bianchi was the first European to be commissioned to run the Marvel Masterpieces Upper Deck project, the subject of two simultaneous exhibitions in 2018 in Italy and the United States. In 2020, Vincenzo Mollica curated the exhibition Simone Bianchi, Amazing Talent at Palazzo Vitelli in Sant'Egidio, exhibiting over 200 paintings by the artist. In 2023, at the "Granai" of the Fattori Museum in Villa Mimbelli in Livorno, was set up, with over 120 works, the exhibition Simone Bianchi, The art of superheroes, with over twenty unpublished and an immersive room that has transformed the pictorial universe of Simone in a film experienceSimone Bianchi also lent his brushes to music, painting the official manifesto of the TOOL concert in Miami and that of the Smashing Pumpkins in Denver, in 2022. In Italy he made the cover for the album of Caparezza EXUVIA, as well as the pop-up contained inside the vinyl.

Author of the manifesto of the XXXII edition of Romics, Simone Bianchi will be the protagonist of a special meeting that will retrace the fundamental stages of his artistic career. His art will also be dedicated to a large exhibition that, on the occasion of the 85 anniversary of Batman, will also pay homage to the Dark Knight with a celebratory corner and a live painting performance.
